Makro is the biggest Cash & Carry organisation in the world. It offers a very extensive assortment of Food and Non-Food products for small retail stores, the so-called 'Horeca', tradepeople and large consuming organisations.

Makro has used Comshare's Executive Information System for several years. Information is updated daily into a multidimensional datamart, and reports are sent to each of the superstores also on a daily basis. The information monitors daily sales, per product, comparing it with the sales of the previous years.
By using ExecuView, flexible analysis of sales and financial information is given to about 30 users, including the Plant Managers of each Superstore. The system runs completely on PC/servers and is being maintained by internal Makro staff.

Recently, Makro implemented ibm Cognos TM1 (anciennement Applix) to consolidate the financial results of the Makro Group on a monthly basis and to report these results to the Metro headquarters in Germany. TM1 also simplifies their yearly budgeting process in a significant manner.
